Don Eduardo ( 1919-2005) is San Miguel de Allende’s best known outsider artist. Born on a small ranch in Comonfort, his life was dominated by Roman Catholicism. A recluse after the death of his wife in the late 1980s, he came to San Miguel de Allende and began to carve and paint powerful often sexual images using roots, wood, marbles, paint, bottle caps and other found objects. His work can be found in collections in Mexico, Canada and Europe.
